This Person Does Not Exist:
‘This Person Does Not Exist’ was a project in which I used 3 different variations on AI tools to push faces to an extreme. I started with generated images from the popular online GAN ‘This Person Does Not Exist’, which generates faces of people which aren’t real. I then photographed the faces using my phone camera, before restoring them using Tencent’s ARC facial recognition tool. By repeating the process of photographing the faces and restoring them, the nature of the correctional processes in my iPhone camera, as well as the tendencies and biases of the ARC tool, become apparent.
