Sun Spots

‘Sun Spots’ was an artwork in which I used the sun to melt holes into the shutter of a Canon 50D, by angling the lens in such a way that it would focus the sun’s rays on the sensor and shutter. Because of the low-pass filter, the sensor was very resistant to the light, and suffered no damage, the shutter, however, was left with a number of small photographs of the sun etched into it.
